WordPress<\/a> have launched their latest version on the 25th January 2022, WordPress 5.9 Jos\u00e9phine<\/a>.  Did you know that the WordPress code name is derived from the name of a jazz musician?  The previous three updates were called WordPress 5.8 Tatum<\/a> (Code name Tatum, after Art Tatum), WordPress 5.7 Esperanza<\/a> (Code name Esperanza after Esperanza Spalding) and WordPress 5.6 Simone<\/a> (Code name Simone after Nina Simone).<\/p>\n

The latest instalment Jos\u00e9phine, has been named in honour of the acclaimed jazz singer (and life long civil rights campaigner) Jos\u00e9phine Baker.  You can now download WordPress 5.9 Jos\u00e9phine,<\/a> and comes with a host of new features:<\/p>\n

Updating WordPress<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you carry out updates yourself, be sure to read all the release notes and any information published by plugin\/theme authors about knock-on effects.  It’s recommended that you update your WordPress installation as soon as possible wherever your templates, plugins and any custom code allow.  Take a backup and be sure that everything will be compatible before you update, and make sure that any custom code is transferred to your new installation where needed.<\/p>\n
