The WordPress team have been busy over the last few months and have in the last few days launched their latest update – 4.1.
Named “Dinah” in honor of jazz singer Dinah Washington, it’s available for download or update in the usual way and offers a wealth of new features:
- A new default theme – Twenty Fifteen – with a brand new design, better responsiveness and a new font family
- A distraction-free writing mode, with all the unnecessary stuff usually on the page when writing content now gone
- Embedding Vine videos
- Recommended plugins
- Template and other technical improvements
It’s recommended that you update your WordPress installation wherever your templates, plugins and any custom code allow. Take a backup and be sure that everything will be compatible before you update, and make sure that any custom code is transferred to your new installation where needed.
