As the crisp, autumnal days of November 2025 unfold, here at Enbecom, we continue to lend our unwavering support to various environmental projects worldwide. In collaboration with our eco-project partner, Ecologi, we focus this month on two spotlighted projects: Planting forest gardens in Busoga, Uganda, and avoiding methane emissions from landfill in Brazil.
Planting Forest Gardens in Busoga, Uganda
In the Namayingo District of Uganda, cassava is the primary crop grown by subsistence farmers. This monoculture farming does not promote a balanced diet and can lead to nutritional deficiencies. However, change is on the horizon. A project we’re supporting is teaching these farmers how to grow multiple crops in what are known as ‘forest gardens’. By diversifying their crops, farmers can enjoy healthier diets and improve food security in their communities.
Avoiding Methane Emissions from Landfill in Brazil
Our second spotlighted project this month takes us to Brazil. Here, a unique initiative captures and flares methane from landfill gas, thereby preventing this potent greenhouse gas from entering the atmosphere. Furthermore, the captured methane is used to generate electricity, replacing fossil-fuel power and contributing to sustainable development. This project showcases the innovative ways in which we can manage waste, combat climate change, and promote renewable energy all at once.
We’re proud to have funded the planting of 4661 trees since the start of our partnership with Ecologi over 4 years. This achievement is a testament to our commitment towards creating a greener, healthier planet for all.
