As we move into June 2025, we at Enbecom continue to demonstrate our commitment to the environment, supporting ecological projects worldwide through our eco-project partner, Ecologi. Today, we’d like to shine a spotlight on two significant initiatives: Carbon removal through afforestation in São Paulo, Brazil, and the protection of the Matavén forest in eastern Colombia.
Carbon Removal through Afforestation in São Paulo, Brazil
In Brazil, one of our key projects is centred around carbon removal in São Paulo. This initiative offers a comprehensive solution to ecological challenges by countering deforestation and mitigating soil degradation. It provides a sustainable path forward in a world increasingly marred by environmental concerns.
Afforestation, the process of planting trees where there were none before, plays a crucial role in this project. By creating new forests, we can actively combat the climate crisis, drawing carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and reducing the overall greenhouse effect.
Protection of the Matavén Forest in Eastern Colombia
Over in Colombia, our collaboration with Ecologi supports the Matavén REDD+ project, a vital initiative that safeguards 1.15 million hectares of tropical forest. Located within Colombia’s Indigenous Reservation, this extensive tract of land is a biodiversity hotspot, home to countless species of flora and fauna.
The project addresses deforestation and biodiversity loss, both of which are critical issues in today’s climate. By protecting this vast forest, we can help maintain the delicate ecological balance and preserve this crucial habitat for future generations.
