Enbecom Blog

As you may be aware, Nominet is the UK’s main domain registry. They run the .uk domain space. We’re pleased to announce that Enbecom is now a Nominet Accredited Channel Partner as well as being a full Nominet Member, meaning that we now connect directly with Nominet’s systems for .uk domain registrations. This includes .co.uk, .uk, .org.uk, .me.uk and others.

Price reduction and special offer

Thanks to our new top tier registrar status, we’re reducing our annual fee for .uk domains to £5.99 per year (£4.99 ex VAT) and removing the requirement to buy/renew a .uk domain for 2 years to get the cheapest rate. Existing customers’ renewals will see the price reduction from 1 December 2020.

We’re also running a great offer: one FREE .uk domain for the first year, when you buy a Silver, Gold or Platinum hosting plan and choose to pay yearly.

Data verification and validation

As part of our Accredited Channel Partner status, we are held to Nominet’s highest standards of data quality.  This goes hand-in-hand with our general aim to make sure domain data is genuine and accurate.  If you have any .uk domains with us, you might receive emails from us or Nominet with actions you must take in order to maintain your domain ownership. These might include:

  • Confirming your email address. If you need to do this, you’ll receive an email from us or Nominet with a link to click on and possible instructions to follow.
  • Validating your registration details. If Nominet are unable to verify the details using publicly-available sources, we or they may get in touch with you to ask you to verify your details by sending one or two scanned documents.
  • Correcting quality issues. If there are other issues with your domain registration record, for example postcodes or phone numbers not being in the correct format, we or Nominet may be in touch to check or correct them.

As with all emails, please read any domain-related messages carefully and only take action if you are sure the email is genuine. Messages in relation to this change will only come from Enbecom or Nominet. If you are unsure whether any email is genuine, forward it to us via a support ticket in your Enbecom Account, with a note asking for it to be checked.
